Almond Chicken Casserole

Ingredients:

8 oz BROAD NOODLES
2 tb BUTTER
1 c CHOPPED SPRING ONIONS
1 c CHOPPED ONION
2 tb FLOUR
1/4 ts DRY MUSTARD
1 ts SALT
1/8 ts PEPPER
2-1/2 c MILK
2 ts WORCHESTERSHIRE SAUCE
1 c GRATED CHEESE
2 c DICED, COOKED CHICKEN
1/4 c DICED, COOKED HAM
1/4 c GREEN CAPSICUM
1 c ROASTED ALMONDS, SLIVERED
1 c FROZEN PEAS
1 c MUSHROOMS CANNED OR FRESH
1 cn CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP


Instructions:

Cook noodles until tender. Melt butter in pan, add onions and spring onion, cover and cook over very low heat for ten minutes. Blend flour, mustard, salt, and pepper. Then add to spring onions and onions. Stir in milk and Worchestershire sauce until thickened. Stir in mushroom soup, cheese, chicken, ham, green capsicum, well drained noodles, peas, mushrooms, and half of almonds. Put in a 9 by 13 casserole dish, and sprinkle with remaining almonds. Bake in preheated oven at 400 for 15 to 20 minutes. Source: Lovette Christiansen
